Joe Reiner here. Long ago and far away, in a different age when I was a dumb young guy, I was lucky enough to be the guitarist of The Best Band in The World. None other than People Pulp. What fun we had, with both our tongues in our cheeks and our hearts on our sleeves making beautiful ugly music. Maybe the time has come to grace the world with the fabled, sought-after, full length People Pulp record? Recorded in 2013 at Macrophonic Studios, “Viva” is finally here!

Kevin Newman was our bassist and producer. Kev is no longer here but if you knew him, you’re blessed for it. He was a genuine ace—mechanically talented, wise beyond his age, friend to all animals, always colorfully laughing. He’s the reason I can play any instrument today, he was a literal music wizard! He influenced me in ways that still surprise me, and is remembered as one of the great people in my life. To say he is dearly missed by all would be an understatement.

Frank Latona (unlike me) is still a rockstar. This guy beats drums mercilessly, shreds skateboards, makes da honeys swoon with his acoustic, takes artsy photos, and is generally one of the coolest dudes I know. Though we’ve taken our separate paths in life, I’ll always have his back and I know he feels the same.

Together, we were best friends as People Pulp, a short-lived force in the northern NJ scene. Making metalcore kids scratch their heads and our friends guffaw at our antics, we deafeningly crushed it. Though we’ll never have that time in our lives back, hopefully we can all bask in the awesomeness of this album. It’s free to stream and download. It was an unedited, no-holds-barred, double-time, work of love in our prime. I hope listening to it brings you as much joy as making it brought us!
